What does it cost to board my pet at Rocky Top?

Nightly boarding rates are based on the size of the enclosure and additional services as requested or required.

Boarding fees for 1 pet:

Indoor/outdoor $22.00
luxury suite $28.00
indoor $18.00
cat condo $14.00

Each additional pet that can be safely kept in the same enclosure is only $8.00 more per night for dogs and $4.00 per night for cats. Stays more than 30 days receive a 20% discount on the boarding fee.

What about food for my pet?

ROCKY TOP KENNEL is proud to serve ROYAL CANIN brand pet food to our guests. However, should your pet requires a special diet, you are welcome to provide it. Rocky Top will be happy to help keep your pet on his regular diet by preparing it at no additional charge. Owner provided food must be in a hard resealable container labeled with your pets name.

When may I bring my pet or pick him or her up ?

Our drop off / pick up hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Saturday drop off / pick up is 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Closed Sunday and major holidays.

Should an emergency or other special circumstances arise, we can check your pet in or out for an additional “after hours” fee.

May I bring toys and bedding for my pet?

If you have an expensive dog bed, leave it at home. Dogs behave differently when they are boarding and sometimes shred their bedding. Make sure the bedding you do bring is washable. We want to keep your pet’s area clean. If you bring toys, we suggest Nylabones, Kongs, Booda Bones, tennis balls, and so forth. Plastic toys can pose a choking hazard.

Can my pet be groomed while at Rocky Top?

We offer exit baths only at the kennel. Price will vary according to size of your pet and coat type. We provide full grooming services for your pet at Rocky Top Pet Grooming & Boutique. You may schedule a grooming appointment by calling 774-4002. Prices vary depending on the size of your pet and type of coat. If your pet has a grooming appointment at Rocky Top Pet Grooming & Boutique during his/her stay at the kennel, we will gladly transport your pet to the groomer for a fee of $5.00 per pet.

What happens if my pet becomes sick or is injured while staying at Rocky Top?

If we determine your pet needs veterinary attention, we will promptly take your pet to the veterinarian. You will be responsible for any vet charges.

What vaccinations are required to board my pet at Rocky Top?

Your dog must be current on Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Hepatitis, and Bordetella. The Bordetella vaccine must have been given within the past 6 months of the scheduled boarding.

Your cat must be current on Rabies, Feline leukemia, and Feline respiratory complex. No pet will be permitted to board at Rocky Top unless vaccinations are up to date. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to provide proof of current vaccinations.

What if my pet has fleas?

We take pride in offering our guests a clean and safe environment. Your pet should be treated for fleas prior to arrival. If fleas are found on your pet, we will treat your pet for fleas prior to kennel placement at the owner’s expense. No pet with fleas will be permitted to board at Rocky Top Kennel.

Exercise

Weather permitting, each day our dog boarders will receive a free playground session with one of our friendly staff members. You may request one additional daily 15 minute playground session for your dog(s) for $2.50 per day. Dogs from the same family may play together for the price of one. We don’t do group plays with dogs from different families.

Medications

We will administer your pets medications as prescribed.

MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION: $1.00 PER DOSE PER PET

Holiday Cancellations

Should your plans change and our services are no longer needed, we will be glad to cancel your reservation. However, during our holiday peak times we require 72 hour advance notice. A $50.00 cancellation fee will be applied if failure to cancel within 72 hours. A credit card number will be required to reserve your holiday boarding.

Rocky Top Kennel opened in December 2001. We have 46 indoor/outdoor kennels, 4 large luxury suites with TV's, and an indoor group boarding room for toy dogs (10 pounds or less). The kennel has central heat and air and ceiling fans.
The kennel also has a private cattery featuring a large cat tower, window to bird watch, and 10 cat condos.
Rocky Top Kennel has two half acre playgrounds for our canine guests to enjoy.
We understand that your pet is a member of your family, and it is hard to leave your pet at a boarding facility with people you don't know. We encourage you to come to Rocky Top Kennel for a tour of our facility and to meet our staff. We appreciate the trust our customers place in us, and we strive to earn that trust.
Directions to Rocky Top Kennel: (Please don't rely on the online mapping services. You'll end up about 1/2 mile south of us.)
From Fort Leonard Wood-
From the west gate, go straight across the interstate and down to the stoplight (by the movie theater). Turn left (west) at the stoplight and go 1/2 mile to T highway (on the right). Turn right onto T highway for 1.2 miles. Turn left on Rosette Road and go 1 mile to the intersection with Red Oak Road. (We are located at that intersection.) Turn left at the intersection, and immediately turn right onto the driveway. Drive past the house to the kennel.
From the main gate-
Go to I-44 and turn left (west). Take exit 156 and turn right. Go to the stoplight and follow the directions above.
From Waynesville-
Follow Hwy 17 south (west) to T highway and follow above directions.

Rocky Top Kennel is happy to care for your pets 365 days a year. However, we are closed for pet drop off or pick up on Sundays and on the following holidays:
New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thankgiving Day and Friday the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
